Earlier, we brought you the priorities of congressional parties in the House. Now we bring you the House from the perspective of independent representatives. Look here to see what Pepecuu and Nimq have in plans.

Earlier, we brought you the priorities of congressional parties in the House. Now we bring you the House from the perspective of independent representatives.

Following the election of Pepecuu (independent) to the deputy speakership, we reached out with a request for comment on her priorities for this session of the House of Representatives.

Jorinton: What are your priorities for the next Congress?

“Currently I’m working on LCC, plus some bills on relations and trade with Alexandria. Basically setting a foundation for future terms to amend or build upon with discussion with their Alexandrian counterparts.”

— Pepecuu

Jorinton: Do you have any specific agenda? Who can you imagine yourself working with?

“I’m open to working with anyone if they have an idea, as long they are also willing to work with me. Some ideas would be acceptable from their initial proposal, while others might need some amending before it is more acceptable but that process is why bills are discussed before proposal, to ensure as many issues or loopholes can be solved before the bill is enacted. As an Independent I would definitely be in direct contact with all parties, so I look forward to working with SotH and LfR’s Omegabiebel, WPR Leader Kaiserin_, as well as TPs cofounder Rubilubi and GERs YeetGlazer for their respective parties stances and discussions on key issues. Additionally, working with any individual Representative or Senator who has a bill or an idea is definitely ideal, as that way I would be able to discuss and provide my views on their ideas. “

— Pepecuu

Jorinton: How do you imagine this congressional term going, considering the two-bloc nature of the House? Will it stabilize Congress compared to the last one, or will this further cause polarization between the right and the left?

“I think it’ll be much of the same as last term, as it was also minority Congress which would need to placate it’s main opposition or some smaller parties in order to pass bills. And polarisation wise I think it might get more polarised leading up to the June Presidential Elections, but after that we should be able to set things aside and pass bills based on ideas and not party lines. “

— Pepecuu

After speaking to her we also reached out to the other independent in the House, Nimq.

“I mostly want to do fixes and clarifications, concerning the finance and business aspects of the law. I also want to also get started on a bigger project, that being a property registry.”

— Nimq

Jorinton: Do you have any specific agenda? Who can you imagine yourself working with?

“While I align on the right usually. I don’t personally plan to pursue topics that would conflict with either. But I will definitely favor the LFR.”
