Instability Is Putting Alexandrian and Redmontian Future in Turmoil

The recent departure of AlexanderLove has caused ripples in both Redmont and Alexandria.

The New Year has been turbulent so far, as the Old Order has crashed down in a raging blaze and from the ashes have risen new stars that threaten to undermine the classic underpinnings of Redmontian politics. The infant nation of Alexandria is not immune to the recent tidal wave shifts, as evidenced by events that have occurred mere minutes ago. 31 minutes before the time of writing, at 8:52PM EST, AlexanderLove resigned all positions and left the community as a whole for reasons personal.

Included in these offices were, notably, Managing Partner of Dragon Law Firm—the most widely used and infamous law firm in Redmont—and Prime Minister of Alexandria. The news appears to have come as a surprise to his successors in both positions, with Kaiserin of the Workers’ Party of Redmont succeeding as Managing Partner of Dragon Law Firm and Deputy Prime Minister Grey of the Galactic Empire of Redmont asking the cabinet of Alexandria for permission to be declared acting Prime Minister.

It is unclear what the future holds for both of these institutions, though both successors seem to have taken quick action to maintain confidence and assure the public of their respective office’s continued operation. In a declaration to the public, (potentially) acting Prime Minister Grey admitted that although there was no established precedent for the current position he was in, he would discuss with the Cabinet where they would like to take the young Monarchy. He asked for patience and said he appreciated the work Alex had done thus far for the Kingdom. When asked for comment, Grey had this to say:

“While Alex’s resignation wasn’t something Alexandrian leadership expected, I feel confident that the current government and people in it can work out where to go and what to do with leadership from here. It is nothing but a small hiccup for the development of the nation.”
– Grey (Deputy Prime Minister [GER])

When asked for comment about her plans for Dragon Law Firm, she said:

“Exact plans are still in the works, but if there’s one thing I can say for certain, it’s that the firm under me will not be the same as it was under Alex. I’d love to use the power that Dragon Law holds as a force for positive change in Redmont, and I’d like to do away with the ruthless legacy of the past. We’re going to do our best to make the transition as smooth as possible for both company and client, but there will be major changes to the way the firm is run.”
Kaiserin (The Managing Partner of Dragon Law Firm)

This comes at the heels of her astounding victory in a special election for an open seat in the Redmont House, where she got nearly double the votes of the runner-up candidate. As managing partner, Kaiserin has nearly total authority over the business undertaken and policies enforced by Dragon Law. Members of the WPR now control the largest (and in practical respects, only) law firm in Redmont, are one of three editors of the largest and most active news platform, a majority in Congress (in partnership with the GER), and the Presidency. The recent dominance of left-aligned individuals in Redmont cannot be denied, and this latest victory for the left will surely raise the ire of right-wing elements in the embattled Commonwealth. When asked for his opinion on the apparent new domination of left-wing elements in Redmont, acting Prime Minister Grey had this to say:

“While I can’t speak on behalf of the entire cabinet due to the range of ideologies, I personally I’m not all too worried. I have spoken with and helped campaign for President 1950 and he seemed very eager to work with Alexandria. While irl I am a firm believer in the idea that no one group should control a government for too long or else they will grow corrupt, I think this is less an issue in Redmont due to the rapidly shifting nature of Redmont politics.”
– Grey (Deputy Prime Minister [GER])

It is clear that Alexandria and Redmont are going through a tumultuous moment. The huge change in leadership in Redmont’s most dominant law firm and the shifting of power in Alexandria’s nascent government represent a huge paradigm change for both nations. Whether these shifts are roadblocks or opportunities for the community (or even cunning individuals) is up for debate.
