In a shockingly close election, 1950minecrafter of the Workers’ Party of Redmont has been elected President of the Commonwealth of Redmont, with Yeet_Boy of the Galactic Empire of Redmont continuing to serve as Vice President.

1950’s victory was predicted by many, including Redmont News Network, who calculated a chance of over 80% of 1950 winning outright. However, it wasn’t expected to be as close as it was.

After first-choice votes were calculated, TheMusica (Independent) was eliminated, and their 4 first-choice votes were transferred to their next choices. After redistribution, Vernicia of the Redmont People’s Party was eliminated, transferring her votes and making her votes, in many ways, the deciding factor of this election.

Once Vernicia’s votes had been redistributed, after the two first groupings were calculated, 1950 surpassed the necessary threshold of 79 votes, reaching 81 in total and making him the President-elect.

After the announcement was made by the Department of State, there were mixed reactions of jubilation as well as discontent. Many in the server’s general chat threw around jokes of “storming the Capitol”, whereas 1950’s supporters celebrated his victory, proclaiming that democracy has spoken.

The Reveille Times will keep readers updated about the incoming 1950 administration.
